The wool beads have this soft, slightly fuzzy texture that looks way nicer than plastic ones. I spaced mine out unevenly on the cotton and it still hangs straight across the window.

I strung these along my bookshelf and the felted wool beads give off such a soft, cozy texture against the cotton cord. Being able to slide them to whatever spacing I wanted meant I could fill the whole shelf exactly how I pictured it.

The loose wool beads are what sold me—I slid them around to bunch more stars over the fireplace and space them out along the rest of the mantel. The cotton cord feels sturdy enough that I'm not worried about it sagging, and the wool is softer than I expected.
